Leanin’ Tree shares your concern about the security of your personal information.
Because of this concern, we have developed a secure Retailer Application process
which will let you share information with us in confidence. We
use secure socket line technology (SSL) to ensure your personal information cannot
be accessed during transmission. And, we have contracted with VeriSign, Inc. for
our Digital Certificate (similar to your driver’s license or passport) which
is used to verify that you are sending your personal information to the organization
you think you are.
As part of the security process, your browser checks for the digital certificate
on our computer to identify us as Leanin’ Tree, Inc. Once it has found the
digital certificate and verified who we are, you will be allowed to complete your
application by entering your name, address and credit information. Your information
is immediately encrypted, and cannot be decoded until it’s on our computer. Once
the information is on our computer, it cannot be accessed from the internet at
all.
The process occurs in the background, but you will know that you are in a secure environment by either a padlock or a key displayed either at the bottom left or bottom right of your browser window. (Sometimes, depending on your browser, you may see a window which indicates you are about to receive or enter a secure document. Click “OK” and the secure connection will be completed.)
Another indication that a browser is in secure mode can be found in the web
site address that your browser displays. The address will begin "http://" in standard,
non-secure mode and "https://" in secure mode. The "s" stands for "secure".
